Girls and college: learn the game
Publication date:
We promise you will find someone that shares the same interests as you, but it’s always good to know who’s around.
The team girl
She is everywhere with her friends: gym, class and dorm. She can’t live without a mascot and her mates. When you are partying, she is training. You can’t say the team girl is the top of her class – after all, her coach isn’t that pleased when she doesn’t show her best. You might be friends if you enjoy the gym sessions too, or she can take you out on a lacrosse night any time. Team girls are supportive and tough, and you know they are no pushovers when you are working out together. You go, ladies!
The relationship girl
You won’t believe it, but there are girls who are filling their lives with boys’ problems seven days a week. If they are breaking up, you will be the first one to know. If they see a guy at a party, they will be head over heels in love. These senoras love drama and can find it even in the literature class. Let’s take “Romeo and Juliet”. The star-crossed lovers, confronting families and real-life tragedies. And what could be more soothing for an aching heart than knowing there is someone somewhere in the world who suffers as much as they do?
The sorority girl
She probably joined a clique for a reason, and that is being together forever. What do we mean by forever? Well, until college ends. Sorority sisters wear the same colors and gather in groups to share the ridiculous number of outfits. They are like athletes in a way, but more pampered and posh, and you can count on them in three things: boys, clothes and studies. Not a bad idea for your first year in college, though it can be noisy and a little overreacting at times. They love their wardrobe and have an obsession with girly discussions, like fifty ways you can curl your hair or your first date apparel.
The nature lovers
They don’t wash their hair with shampoos because of all the dioxides within. They will probably never drive a car for it is the major source of pollution. The earthy crunchy girls are natural all the way, and are always in search of better ways to improve our planet. You can find common language if you have hiking as your favorite, or if you share their vision on global warming. Annoying? Yes, especially if you are not that into the eco stuff.
The party girl
Trust us – you need a friend like this if you are down for a good time. Party animals are the best when it comes to throwing the biggest celebration ever, and they will always invite just the right amount of guys. Partying is their lifestyle and they can hardly wait for the weekend. Going out is a natural pastime, and you’ll be surprised how many times they had to cram because it was someone’s birthday then. Classes? Yeah, well, this stuff in between the club and that cutie from the third room.
The bestie
This is your best friend. You know it’s her when you meet her. You can tell her anything, and she will always be there for you. When you start getting used to college life, you will strike conversations with people who have the same values, goals and dreams, and they will become your homies one way or another. You don’t have to be afraid to socialize – after all, these are the general types, and college is full of surprises.
