Factors which influence your career choice most

When it comes to the career choosing, we always take into account various factors which are important and influence our decision. There exist several theories of career development which are necessary to look through and think them well as they may help us realize why different things happen in this or that way. So let`s discover the influence factors.
Knowledge, skills and abilities. It`s well-known that your skills play not the least role in your career choice. This is known from one of the oldest career theories, Train-Factors, which is widely used till today. Of course, your abilities and special knowledge are important to take this or that occupation and also get success. You are to look through the activities you like and where you have experience and try to combine them to get what you want. There are also different tests online which can help to make up your mind.
Life roles. During the whole life people play several roles at the same time – except being an employee, we are students, parents, daughters/sons etc. The Super's Lifespan theory states that our roles evolve depending on the life period, but what we think about these roles, which aims we state and how we deal with different troubles may influence the career choice and development. We have to learn how to be a harmonized entire to achieve the greatest results.
Type of personality and Interests. There`s an interesting Holland's Career Typology which helps to connect the personality types and the most matching careers. The theory offers six career types which help to distinguish different occupations, you can examine your type and you will get the list of occupations which will be the best for your type of personality depending on your interests and features of character.
Experience. Social Cognitive Career Theory tells that if we had a good and successful experience in some kind of activity, we feel more confident in doing it the next time, we hope to get the same tasks if the experience was fine. In this case, we are struggling to do those things we are sure in and we know they will bring us success.
Gender. Very often we face some stereotypes concerning the careers and related genders to them. We should deal with men and women equally, and the view of ourselves and our strengths will influence the choice of an occupation a lot.
Culture. Cultural background also influences the career choice, our culture always sets us certain values, customs and beliefs. The understanding of our culture helps us make the right decision.
Economic and society. We live in society and this also plays an important role in our career choice. Different situations which happen may affect our choices and sometimes they can even make us do this but not that. Non-stable economy and labor market needs are also necessary factors to take into account.
Childhood Fantasies. Ginzberg offers the theory which tells of three stages connected to the career choice and the first one is our fantasy which we may observe starting with the early ages. It`s really difficult for some people to find their vocation. It`s important to remember that several factors taken all together influence our occupation choice – environment, culture, society. We also should pay much attention to our favorite activities, skills and experience. We have to develop ourselves all the time, to broaden our outlook.
Sometimes several occupations may fit your requirements, in this case just choose the one which you like the most, or just try both and then make a final decision. Self-confidence is what you should obtain to get success in any career!
